We are seeking a passionate and skilled Cook to join our dining team. This is a large Senior Living Community serving Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and handling, with a keen understanding of culinary techniques and food service operations. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in creating delicious meals that meet our high standards for quality and presentation.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu plans.
  • Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining proper food handling practices.
  • Collaborate with dining manager to plan menus, taking into account dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper storage of food items and equipment.
  • Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, assisting in ordering as needed.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, ovens, grills, and fryers.
  • Assist in training new kitchen staff on cooking techniques and safety protocols.
  • Take pride and ownership of dining experience.

Must be ServSafe Certified
Experience
  • Previous experience in the food industry or restaurant setting is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary skills.
  • Familiarity with menu planning and dietary aide responsibilities is a plus.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • A passion for cooking and creating memorable dining experiences for 70 residents.
